Junior Instructor - Skate Lessons

A training program designed for youth 12-15 years old who are willing to become an assistant to the instructors during our skate lesson program.

A sheet will be provided to track your volunteer hours. Participant will be responsible for filling out and keeping track of volunteer hours on chart provided. If participant does not uphold to the behavioral expectations they will be asked not to return and volunteer hours will not be signed off on.


*Must be able to skate two lengths of the ice unassisted.
*Must attend all trainings held at the ice rink to help with the lesson programs.

Training schedule is found in the schedule tab. Lesson assignments will be given closer to the beginning of the Learn to Skate Programs start. Please be prepared at trainings to tell us your participants availability for lessons.

Hello everyone,

My name is Kaleigh and I oversee our ice rink. I wanted to thank you for signing up for our junior instructor program and I also wanted to give a little bit of information. If you reference RecDesk under the schedule tab for the junior instructor program it will tell you our mandatory training dates. At the end of these training programs our lessons supervisor will tell your participant when the lessons are that they will be asked to assist with. Of course, we will take into consideration your preferences when handing out assignments. Please think about what times your participant would be willing to volunteer and assist for. It is great to have consistency for our lesson participants for please keep that in mind. We have 3 sessions of learn to skate and more information about class times will be sent out to you through our app we use to communicate.
